The primary aim of this flourishing Society is to celebrate and remember the achievements and sacrifices of those who were stationed at Royal Air Force Martlesham Heath (to the east of Ipswich, Suffolk), from its formation in 1917, to its closure as an operational airfield in 1963.
The Martlesham Heath Aviation Society strives to keep the History of the Station alive, with many of its 250+ members (including many Americans) all having some family connection with the base's operations.
Meetings are held at the Community Hall Felixtowe Road on the 1st Friday of the month starting at 7.30pm, with a mid session tea or coffee break. Non-members are welcome for a payment of just £2.50 at the door.
